My first journal entry was written on December 22, 1996. To celebrate the 5th year of my online journal, I’ve released a new theme for the Protagonist Boards. It’s a monkey theme. Uh before you think that we’re a bunch of monkeys in the Protagonist community …lol. Let me give you a brief history: I wanted a theme suggested by the male members . And I think it was Jon who suggested it seconded by Michel..then I remembered Chris was crazy about monkeys. I’m not sure who suggested the durian if it was Rah or psyche. Then by accident I saw this article on the monkey icon.
And as we gaze into the soft brown eyes of our simian sisters we realise that despite our pretence we aren’t that alone and different after all. Millennial self-analysis is really about getting to know our own minds in order to reinterpret our relationship with others.
In surprise we see ourselves reflected back in the monkey: we live, we breathe. We come into this world unknown and unknowing. We struggle for survival. We squat naked and exposed, high up in the forest, and masturbate furiously among the twigs and leaves, from here until eternity.
But yeah, there’s no business like show business, uh rather monkey business.
