KaZaA can turn your computer on remotely

Geez, after audiogalaxy vx2 spyware is the Distributed Computing Program Hidden in Kazaa

A California company has quietly attached its software to millions of downloads of the popular Kazaa file-trading program and plans to remotely “turn on” people’s PCs, welding them into a new network of its own.

I wonder if this is some April fools joke . Fortunately I don’t use kazaa but I did install it once and now I am not sure if it really uninstalled.

Uninstalling Kazaa is all well and good, but with regards to BDE:
The program hides itself in different locations all over your hard drive, including copies of itself in your OS root and /system32 folders (if you’re running Windoze) It’s a bitch and a half to purge. There’s no unistaller, and it’s got dozens of registry entries to manually erase. Search for ‘bde’ and ‘b3d’ on your HD and your registry to make sure you get it all.)

The kazaa lite SUPPOSEDLY eliminates all the spyware.
