Derek surprised me today when he asked for relationship advice:
Derek: what do you know about Filipino ideas on teenage dating?
Me: hm we aren’t allowed to date
Derek: figured that… that’s pretty much her parents stance
Derek: there ain’t no way to change their opinions is there?
Me: oh is she filipino?
Derek: filipino
Me: WOW!
Me: how did you meet a filipino in Missouri?
Me: never knew they existed there
Derek: LOL, well, surprises happen
And she happens to be 4′11″ too. Well, it’s too bad for Derek, cos I know how strict parents can be when it comes to dating. If they break the rules, he’s never going to see her again. ever!
