I’m back from Bangkok! I had so much fun! And guess what? I met up with Kig. SURPRISE! We actually met up twice, the first and last day .
REWIND:
While at Laos, Dad asked me: Are you meeting up with your friend?
Me: I tried to email him but no reply .
Sister: Maybe we can send a postcard . But we don’t have his address.
Me: Oh I remember now. Do a WHOIS.
Fortunately in Laos, there are internet cafes in almost every street corner. After a slow connection, I got his phone number and address.
Fastforward At Bangkok:
Me: Can I speak with Porawit (kig’s full name)?
Kig’s mom: (doesn’t seem surprised to hear from me but was surprised I was at Bangkok…and after some small talk) He’ll be out of school by 5:00 PM but I’ll give you his phone number.
After a nap, I called up kig:
Me: So Kig, can we meet up Friday or Saturday?
Kig: I’ll be there in a minute.
Me: WHAT?
Kig was already at the hotel lobby , when I called him up through his cellphone. He rushed to my hotel room and wow that was such a surprise. He hasn’t been online cos he is staying at a dormitory and there’s no internet access there.
First impression: Kig is quite shy .
