My mom bought us a battery operated, silver Maneki Neko (The Beckoning Cat) yesterday and my sister added it to our Asian shrine. The beckoning paw is smilar to this 
except ours is a left paw up. Some say the left paw up is for wealth , the right one up is for luck. Others are of the opinion that the left paw up means fortune and the right one up health. No wonder a lot of Chinese stores in Divisoria have a Maneki Neko.
If only my webcam was working , I would have taken a photo of my cat playing with the moving paw. It was so cute.
