At this time of the year, only Filipino movies are shown in all the theaters . They are usually entries to the Metro Film Festival. I plan to watch 2 today :Mano Po which depicts three generations of a Chinese immigrant family and how they adopted themselves to their host country (It won the “Best Picture Award.” ) and dekada 70 which details how a middle class family struggled with and faced the new changes that empowered Filipinos to rise against the government.
