To those who are hosted with me (at Protagonist WebHosting)
I have 3 announcements : Server move, new hosting plans and promotional deals.
First, the server move. Yes we will move to a dedicated server on July 28 at 9:00 PM US Pacific time . For those in Singapore or Philippines time zone, that is on Thursday, July 29 at 12 noon. There is no downtime because once the move is over, I will switch the host nameservers immediately.
This new server will be fully managed and maintained by reliable and qualified sysadmins and technicians who will ensure that your site will be up and running 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. We will still use the same datacenters that have given us fantastic uptime for the past year. Remember, we have bandwidth connectivity from only top tier 1 bandwidth providers including Mzima bandwidth, a blended provider of Teleglobe, Global Crossing and Verio, with over 75 peers. Our server is operated out of the equinix/pihana and One Wilshire facilities in Los Angeles, California.
Reminders:
1. If you have forums, just close it down until the move is over so you won’t lose your posts. It will take one hour and half for the move. If you don’t want to close it, let me know at the HelpDesk so we can add your site last.
2. If you use the gallery script (http://gallery.sourceforge.net/), there will be owner’s permission error after the move is done. If you know how to tar, use http://www.computerhope.com/unix/utar.htm . You can still fix the gallery by chmoding it back again after the move.
3. You might also want to do a full backup. Those using simskins, under “generate a full backup”, select the blank option (supposed to be home directory) to save it to your server and download it after.

For reseller plans :
There are 4 reseller plans. We have 2 plans for those who need to keep all their domains together or want to host friends domains. Then we have 2 other plans for those that want to start a webhosting business.
Some of few have already earned referral points in the past but we’ve expanded it a bit. MORE POINTS till the promo ends!!

Existing members can refer anyone to our shared webhosting or reseller annual payment plans and receive points . Points will give you more diskspace or a new hosting plan
*The points
Star, Thespian, Superstar plan = 10 points
Protagonist 250 or Protagonist 500 Plan = 25 points
Domain Management Plans= 25 points
Business Reseller Plans= 50 points
*Here is how it works
1. The equivalent of 1 point is 1 MB. So 10 points is 10 MB.
2. Only annual plans are qualified for points.
3. Points accumulated from the Business Reseller plans will only be awarded if the one you referred has paid the account for 1 year and has maintained the hosting account for at least 3 months.
4. Points accumulated from the Star, Thespian , Superstar , Protagonist 250/500 and Domain Management plans can be issued immediately for your use.
5. Points can be used to:
- add space to your existing plan
- order a new hosting plan (except reseller plans. i.e. if you have 50 points, you can order a star plan)
- transfer your points to another account or as a gift for a friend.
- Not convertible to cash
6. To get your points, just submit a ticket at he Helpdesk and indicate who you referred, and how you want to use your referral points. (select referral points under options)
