I was told by my mom to check the flight status of my uncle David’s flight and found out that the plane got diverted due to a medical emergency.
Since my uncle is a neurologist from Cleveland Clinic, I immediately thought of him. Imagining the scenario just like in the movies, he probably was helping out .
“If there is a doctor on board, please stand up”
Then he finally arrived an hour late and related his story . So my thoughts turned out true and he in fact told the pilot to divert and drop the victim (who had a stroke and was unconscious) in Okinawa since it was only 20 minutes away. The pilot wanted to wait till they arrived in Manila but my uncle thought that the victim’s brain would have been totally dead by that time.
Wow lucky patient to have a doctor on board. For that deed, the airline gave him 5000 miles and an upgrade to business class. Cool
