nervous system

My peripheral nervous system conveys messages to and from the brain and carries out my CNS’ commands many times on a daily basis that I can’t even remember all of them. However, there are three instances that stand out. The most recent one was when I sprained my ankle a couple of days ago. I can still remember the blinding pain that shot up from my ankle after my foot landed the wrong way during taekwondo. The pain still remained as I hobbled to the infirmary but it eventually went away after I was given painkillers and my injured ankle was bound.

Every now and then, I like to treat myself to a full-body massage at The Aromatherapy Spa. I haven’t had a massage in months but I can clearly remember the last time I was there. For the entire hour, the only things I was aware of were the sensuality of the whole massage session and the fragrance of peppermint essential oils. My favorite part was when the masseuse massaged my back because back massages never fail to make me feel relaxed and calm; it probably has something to do with my scoliosis. Full-body massages are the most heavenly thing on earth; I think I shall indulge in one once finals week is over.

Nothing cheers me up more than a good laugh, and nothing makes me laugh harder than comedy. When I was feeling down a couple of days ago, I decided to watch Friends to get my mind off the thing that was bothering me. Five minutes into the show, I was instantly put in a better mood. The sarcasm and witty comebacks of the characters never fail to crack me up and keep me laughing until the episode ends.
