No. 1 toymaker Mattel set to unveil new dolls for spring and fall based on Fox’s hit reality show.
“El Segundo, Calif.-based Mattel, the No. 1 toymaker, is rolling out the 2005 American Idol Barbie set in stores this month, with another one due in the fall.
According to the company, the spring playset revolves around a show stage, special outfits and three dolls, including Barbie and her two friends, Simone and Tori.
The idea is that the three girls are auditioning for a spot on “American Idol,” on which contestants showcase their singing abilities. ”

Trying in to cash on the popularity of the American Idol. Frankly, Barbie dolls are a thing of the past. Kids these days prefer the Bratz dolls. I love their cool fashion sense.
