For some reason, my computer spat out this error message when I tried to log in:
“This copy of windows must be activated with Microsoft before you can log on. Do you want to activate windows now?”
And it required me to call Microsoft support which was already closed when I finally got their number. Panic! Panic! Because my Psychology report was in there. Fortunately, the safe mode allowed me to get the word document.
Take note: I registered my windows XP online in August 2003, so what’s the deal?
Next day: I got hold of Microsoft support and I had the option whether I wanted it in “tagalog” or English. I wish I had chosen Tagalog because I could barely understand the thick Indian accent. Oh and before this, they got my phone number and email address. Finally, it got activated. I was told that it was never activated and that was really strange. Is registration and activation the same or what.
Microsoft defends Windows XP activation policy. Really shady, I should say.
