I’ve only shopped once at the 168 Mall in Divisoria. What can I say??? CHEAP. There were just so many stalls that I only scoured the first floor of the mall. Yup lots of bargain goodies especially those who are into fashion. I prefer a more classic look though but I ended up buying some fashion accessories. Hehe . Oh well, the shopping malls, are complaining that their retail sales have dropped by almost 15 percent. They attribute it to the 168 Mall and the proliferation of “tiangges,” sponsored bazaars, the Greenhills flea market. Tsk Tsk. Can you blame us for shopping bargain items during these difficult times?
This is an email forward I got. The email says “Ever wonder why our markets are flooded with clothes whose prices are cheaper than those in China? It’s the smuggling of drugs. The clothing materials are practically given away free when the containers come in. It’s the few kilos of shabu (Methamphetamine) and other drugs that matter.”
Note : I can’t claim accuracy of this though..
Please check all the items that you will buy in divisoria, especially in
clothing. A friend of mine who just visited from the US decided to shop at
mall 168. she was already abou t to pack the things she bought to take back
to the US when she decided to have the clothes laundried first. buti na
lang… hidden inside the pockets of one of the shorts/pants she bought was
a small bag of shabu. another one was discovered sewed under a skirt. if she
had just packed these items without knowing she might have gotten into big
trouble when she gets checked sa immigration or customs (or wherever it is
they check your things.) i doubt they’ll believe you if you say you have no
idea where those came from. a friend of my boss also had the same
experience. she also found a pack of shabu in the pockets of a piece of
clothing she wore. some are selling/buying drugs under the pretense that
they’re buying a piece of clothing. but i guess they either forgot that
there were drugs in those clothing or the person selling didn’t know what
was hidden there. in any case, please be careful when buying items. you
might get more than you bargai ned for.
