I believe Kansas is quite conservative and care a lot about their kids:
Restrictions apply to selling, displaying-Law changed for adult items
Though Olathe leaders voted Tuesday to tighten restrictions on the sale and display of adult items, the woman who spurred the changes wants more done.
Among other limitations, the Olathe City Council unanimously approved a new rule making it illegal to display to minors devices or material “designed or marketed as useful primarily for the stimulation of human genital organs.”
This new change was brought about by a complaint from a mother on Spencers Giftsin the Great Mall of the Great Plains.
Hodle said she still thinks it is wrong for explicit products marketed to adults to be sold in a store where kids are free to roam. She wants Spencer’s declared an adult business.
“They put up a sign for adult material, and then they say, ‘Come on in, kids,’” she said.
Spencers Gifts is nothing more than gag toys. But it is actually best for the store to just place their adult-oriented gag items at the very back of the store together with a sign that says “Items in this area are adult oriented. Parental Guidance is suggested.”
