Season 1 program is scheduled to begin on July 29, 2006. It’s very disappointing to note that most of the applicants have TV exposure Like those from Star in a Million, Pinoy Pop, and the defunct Star for a night. I wonder how many are newcomers that haven’t joined any contests. I am sure there are untapped singers out there who just didn’t take the chance or was it the judges who didn’t see their potential.
Incidentally, Ryan Agoncillo will be the host for the Philippine Idol Season 1. No, he’s not going to be like Ryan Seacrest. Host Ryan Agoncillo showed up to wish the hopefuls good luck in the PICC auditions. Agoncillo went around the venue to talk and give encouraging words to the contestants.
