From Manila Bulletin’s issue on Mindanao sends 17 Philippine Idol hopefuls to Manila
Davao City — “Philippine Idol” sends 17 Idol–positives to Manila after hearing 1,300 auditioners who made a singing battleground out of Davao’s Waterfront Hotel early this week. All 17 of them are one step closer to becoming the first “Philippine Idol” when the show debuts on TV on July 29.
Judges Ryan Cayabyab, Francis Magalona and Pilita Corrales took over a meagre number of 75 passers slashed from more than a thousand Fast Tracks and pre–casting auditioners the ABC-5 pre–judging team organized in Mindanao.
Pilita Corales believes the better singers are in Cebu. Mr. C is expecting better singers during the Visayas auditions fon July 4-8. “Generally speaking, we’re expecting a lot from Cebu. But we’re very happy because we found some who are very worthy of competition.”
