Ryan explains: “The show follows the same format, but we’re not required to ‘copy’ Simon, Paula (Abdul) or Randy (Jackson). We play ourselves. In fact, sometimes, they’re a disadvantage, kasi nawawala ang focus sa ability mo. You also have to be original — there can only be one Basil, Martin, Gary or Regine. You’ll never go the extra mile kung meron kang ginagaya!”
I believe that the next Philippine Idol should not be our usual pop singers who literally holds a note for minutes. I agree that the Philippine Idol should be a charismatic performer similar to Taylor Hicks.
