Talent over looks in Philippine Idol
The judges have the general feeling that being goodlooking is a plus factor in getting that crack at becoming the first national idol, but it is not a guarantee to take home the plum. In Cebu alone, some of the fine-looking boys and girls went out rejected simply because they didn’t have the voice. In such cases, the judges couldn’t help but say ‘you can’t really judge a book by its cover.’
The judges are looking for that x-factor for this season’s Philippine Idol. It would be great to see a fresh talent that is NOT compared to some local pop artist. Speaking of the judges, I’m glad to see a balanced mix of ages and genre. The American Idol success is also attributed to Simon Cowell. Let’s see if our judges show some wit and charm.
