Drae Ybanez, Miguel Mendoza, Reymond Sajor, and Jan Kurt Nieto are the top 4 male finalists. Ramirr Grepo didn’t make it . Also Gian Magdangal. A lot predicted these two guys to make it to the Top 4 hands down. They were great singers but their fan base was complacent. After all it’s the text votes that will make them win. While waiting in line to get inside the theater, Ramirr’s friends were right in front of us. I asked why there were no tarpulins for Ramirr . They said most of his friends are in Baguio. Too bad. No matter how well they performed, the fan base is the one that will make them win. We hear this said over and over again by Simon Cowell at the American Idol Finals.
Miguel Mendoza and Reymond Sojor were Two out of my top 4 predictions who made it. As you can see in the photos I took before the live show, Drae and Miguel had a strong supporters. They were cheering and rooting incessantly for their idol. The family and friends of Miguel were seated to my right. Right before the show started, I got to talk to family that I was confident Miguel will make it. I told them I voted for Miguel. On my left was a friend of Gian. He was totally disappointed that Gian didn’t make it. In fact, he didn’t expect him to lose.
There is still a chance in the wildcard round. For the next round, supporters should rally around the text voting , making it systematic and organized. Unless of course, the wildcard will be chosen by the judges.
Being in the live audience is really fun. We get to cheer and yell. I have to look perky and cheerful because that’s what the directors instructed us to do. Being caught in the TV yawning or using your cellphone is like a big No-No. It’s a bit hard for me to jump up and down because I have never been a devoted fan of a famous showbiz celebrity. I’ve always been subdued when I’m agog over a celebrity. Anyway, I won’t be able to watch the Female Performers next saturday since I will be in Baguio with my husband.
