A Smiling Miguel Left the Philippine Idol Stage

The pressure has been lifted from Miguel Mendoza’s shoulders. It must have been a relief for him. It is seen in his smile that he accepted this fate. He can now return to the life of a normal teenager after his commitments with Philippine Idol expires.

Last week, we read the angry comments of disappointed Pow fans when she was eliminated last week . When Ryan A announced that Miguel and Gian could take a seat, I thought “No this doesn’t seem right. There is no suspense. No nerve wracking moment. All week there had been furor over Pow’s elimination”. Something was fishy . I knew it when Mau and Jan were left onstage. It must have been difficult for Mau to choose Miguel. All of them are deserving to be in the Finalists. Unfortunately, one has to be eliminated every week.

Tonight’s results showed some crucial revelations:

1. Philippine Idol fans have made a stand on who their Philippine Idol will be. They voted wisely. Good job, Philippine Idol Fans!

2. Fans of past Philippine Idol finalists are now casting their votes for their choice of Philippine Idol title holder. Though they are sad that their Idol didn’t make it this far, they chose to use their votes on the deserving Philippine Idol finalists.

3. Both winning elements, Talent and Popularity are possible now with only 3 Philippine Idol finalists.

4. Philippine Idol popularity has soared even higher as shown from the number of commercials.

I believe Talent will be the critical factor which will decide the votes for the [tag]Philippine Idol[/tag] winner.

Congratulations Mau Marcelo, Gian Carlo Magdangal and Jan Nieto for making it this far. I will watch you again live but this time at the Araneta Coliseum.

To Miguel, you also had the talent but it’s just that the Top 3 finalists had more passion and drive to stay in the competition. It’s not the end of the road for you. I hope to hear that single one day, the music that Mr. C and you will compose together. Goodbye Miguel!
