Sanjaya Malakar’s mohawk-style hair was the only memorable thing about his performance of “Bathwater.”

The Hair experiments seem like an excellent idea….just so viewers pay attention to his voice and not just the hair. (View photos of Sanjaya’s Mohawk hair)
Best of the “Idol” night: Melinda Doolittle. Again. This time, she strutted through “”Heaven Knows.”
A reivew of the top 10 American Idol Finalists but first here are their song choices:

Sanjaya, “Bathwater” (No Doubt)
Haley, “True Colors” (Cyndi Lauper)
Phil Stacey, “Every Breath You Take” (The Police)

LaKisha was decent, nice to see her not oversinging, but Donna Summer? LaKliche is right.
Sligh was so tremendously horrible that he doesn’t warrant comment.
Gina was actually good, but I wish she’d dress classier when she sings classy songs.
Sanjaya was Sanjaya, and I’ll never listen to Bathwater the same way. wasy to ruin a No Doubt song, asswipe.
Haley was whitebread and boring. Nice legs, but honey, if you’re going to wear a dress that short with cameras aimed up at you from below, stand like a lady.
Phil was decent, but damn the recap that they showed of him blew.
Melinda is so fake that I just simply cannot bear to watch her anymore.
Blake was boring, but at least he didn’t try beatboxing.
Jordin was not her best, but still far and away the best tonight (followed by Gina and no one else).
Chris Richardson needs to stop singing through his nose. Srsly, No DOubt is my favorite band ever and I hate Chris even more now.
and from blogs.orlandosentinel.com
1. Melinda
2. Jordin, who showed a sexier side on “Hey Baby.”
3. Gina Glocksen, who was better than ever on “I’ll Stand by You.”
4. LaKisha Jones, who delivered a solid “Let’s Dance.” This year, the four last singers probably should be women. The men’s field was that weak.
5. Blake, who delivered a mellow “Lovesong.” Simon Cowell designated him the front-running guy. Paula Abdul said she wanted to see Blake in the finale. That’s a little premature, isn’t it?
6. Phil Stacey. He was better than usual on “Every Breath You Take.” I think he won’t last much longer, but he probably saved himself this week.
7. Chris Richardson. He rebounded from last week with “Don’t Speak.” I think he has more potential than Phil …
8. Haley Scarnato. She is lovely, but she was weak and tentative on “True Colors.”
9. Chris Sligh. He lost the beat on “Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic.” Did he lose his way? I’m fearing this jokester could be a goner.
10. Sanjaya … Oh, please, stop the pain. He seems like a nice guy. He also is out of his league in this contest.
