Stars Shine Down
The flash of fame, the glitz of glamour and the glare of the klieg lights are not the only things which make the country’s top stars shine. On the Toblerone National Thank You Day at the SM Mall of Asia yesterday, the country’s top celebrities went out to prove that they can shine their brightest through their glittering gestures of gratitude.
Leading the metro in this grand celebration of gratefulness were three of today’s most sought after showbiz personalities: Mo Twister, Luis Manzano and Bianca Gonzalez. And with these three celebrities’ witty repartees and quirky thank yous, dull moments were definite no-nos.
Meanwhile, star struck fanatics gushed out a million thanks as they saw their favorite celebrities lend their appeal to revive the lost art of saying “thank you.” Hot stars Nancy Castiliogne, Cindy Kurleto and Angelica Panganiban; father-daughter tandem Francis and Maxene Magalona as well as top showbiz couple Anthony Pangilinan and Maricel Laxa topped the National Thank You Day guest list.
Of course, not to be left behind were the stalwarts of the Philippine music scene. Hale, The Dawn, Stonefree, Cynthia Alexander, Reggae Mistress and other up-and-coming bands all agree that a “thank you” sung as a chorus by the verve of a band is so much more meaningful than a softly murmured “thanks.” And so, this veritable group of musicians sang their hank you’s out loud in a grand musical extravaganza that also served as the highlight of the Philippine’s first ever National Thank You Day.
These celebrities’ glittering example of gratitude showed how they have elevated a simple thank you into an art and how by going the extra mile, they are shining even outside the glare of fame.
