This post is long overdue because a certain American Idol 7 contestant should have gotten the boot weeks ago. And of course it took an hour for Ryan Seacrest to finally spit out that Kristy Lee Cook will have to ride off into the sunset. FINALLY!!! There’s something about her that hits me the wrong way. Her saccharine sweet appearance? The whole Carrie Underwood country girl act, as if that’s going to make her win the contest? Whatever it is, I’m glad she’s finally leaving. Though to her credit, she left with quite a bang, singing her final song with a message to Simon saying that she had waited all her life for one good comment from him. I have a feeling she’ll be back in one form or another. Maybe if she can find a good enough producer in Nashville, she’ll be serenading America through the airwaves of country radio stations.
As for the rest of the show, it was mean how they messed around with David Cook’s head and made him think he was in the bottom 3, only to let him know that they were just kidding and he was actually safe. Come on. You don’t do that to a kid, especially a kid with high blood pressure!
