Paula Abdul May No Longer Be an Idol Judge

The auditions for new American Idol judges begin in just two weeks and while Kara DioGuardi’s presence in season 9 is now a sealed deal, Paula Abdul is still left hanging as to whether or not she’ll be back next year. Several weeks ago, Paula Abdul’s manager David Sonenberg leaked to the LA Times that Paula has yet to receive a proposal for a new contract. Though fans are supportive and continue to hope for Paula’s return (me included!) she’s still not a very happy camper about the stalled contract negotiations.

I have a feeling that she will return to Idol – look at all the long-standing TV shows that retained the same cast for years. American Idol won’t be the same without Paula Abdul soothing the contestants after Simon Cowell’s tart tongue. If she does return, she’ll probably be making less money from it than she used to. Even Kara DioGuardi’s new deal doesn’t come close to what the judges are going to be getting (though I think it’s not fair that everyone is getting a raise while she isn’t). In any case, we’ll keep you posted about what happens! You can also follow Paula Abdul on Twitter for real time updates on her latest projects.

The free publicity of a story a day until auditions begin before the judges will easily compensate AI for giving Paula a hefty raise. These people are so clever!

Shame on Idol. I will miss Paula! I have not like Kara from day one. She can not talk. and when she does she repeats Randy and Simon! No thoughts of her on! I wish Paula all the luck in the world and I’m no longer a fan of AI! Will not be watching this coming season, I hope a lot of people feel this way also.
