The search for the fourth American Idol judge is on! Up for the first round of American Idol judge auditions are former Spice Girl Victoria Beckham and pop star Katy Perry. Both women are very excited and honored to have been chosen and feel no guilt about replacing Paula Abdul. According to Reality TV magazine, Victoria didn’t even hesitate when she was asked.
I am beyond excited! When I got the phone call, I just couldn’t believe it. I feel like I got the best job that there is… I’m still grinning from ear to ear, and I’m going to try hard to pout and not shatter the illusion that I’m a moody cow, but I don’t know if I can — I’m just so happy.
It looks like Victoria is also looking to fill Paula Abdul’s “nice judge” shoes as well.
I want to be nice to people. I know how it feels to be stood there and be judged and how it can feel when nerves get the better of you, and I don’t want to shatter anybody’s dream. But at the same time, there’s nothing wrong with a little bit of constructive criticism. It’s doing it nicely, because even those that are bad, they don’t know that they’re bad and who am I to shatter that?
Katy Perry, on the other hand, intends to be a tough cookie and teach these kids a thing or two about the realities of the music industry, just like Simon Cowell. On her Twitter, she says.
Ok, I must confess, I’m SO excited to guest host on American Idol. I think Simon & I are gonna get along famously. He tells it like it is…& truthfully, that’s how ppl need to hear it. This isn’t like ur local highschool talent conest. This is AI! Ppl that wanna b in music biz..need to know this shit isn’t a cake walk!
No more pitty passing kids on to the next level just cause they have some kinda sob story or…cuz they look like a replica of past idol winners (is it me or does every year hv like the nerd, the rocker chick, gospel chick, etc.)…anyway, I’m just excited to tell it like it is & high 5 Simon all day. He may be devil of judges but he’s riggght! (kthxbye back 2 silence
I doubt she’ll have as much of a say as she thinks she does, though.
The fourth American Idol judge should be chosen by early 2010, but I’m not sure if they’ll be airing the judge audition episodes at the start of the 9th season or sometime this year.
