Our Philippine President Macapagal-Arroyo jumped five places to take No. 4 in the US-based Forbes magazine’s list of the world’s most powerful women. She’d probably be removed from the list if she doesn’t survive the latest political crisis. I am hoping she will survive for the sake of our country. Politicians should stop being selfish and look at themselves first .

Finally the State of the Nation Address has ended. She says a constituent assembly may give the people the quickest reforms. “I shall work with Congress, civil society groups and local government executives who are convinced that Charter change is needed to enable the country to surmount the challenges of the 21st century.” This might mean our government might become something “parliamentary”, like our Asian neighbors. This change will give the President a graceful exit and probably provide a solution to our political crisis.
The mom’s essay originally featured in New York’s Time is called The New Nanny Diaries Are Online while this is nanny’s blog. Okay so why did the nanny show her blog to her employer ? I mean, the nanny is probably the nth person to be fired because of her blog. I guess she just wanted more attention to her blog which most bloggers fall into this trap , not really thinking if their entries might affect their jobs. drinking? abortion?
