XHTML 1.1 layout

It’s been a year since BLOGGED had a new layout. Waahh. Just shows you how lazy I am. So here’s a new and simple layout taken from Ruthsarian layouts. It’s a three column CSS-based layout that allows for separate background images for each column. This layout will degrade in version 4 and under browsers but retains the logical structure. It also uses Horizontal and Vertical navigational elements based on unordered lists. It’s nothing special but it has all the elements I want.

It’s supposed to be XHTML 1.1 but I will still have to validate it when I have more time.

To those who are hosted with me (at Protagonist WebHosting)

I have 3 announcements : Server move, new hosting plans and promotional deals.

First, the server move. Yes we will move to a dedicated server on July 28 at 9:00 PM US Pacific time . For those in Singapore or Philippines time zone, that is on Thursday, July 29 at 12 noon. There is no downtime because once the move is over, I will switch the host nameservers immediately.

This new server will be fully managed and maintained by reliable and qualified sysadmins and technicians who will ensure that your site will be up and running 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. We will still use the same datacenters that have given us fantastic uptime for the past year. Remember, we have bandwidth connectivity from only top tier 1 bandwidth providers including Mzima bandwidth, a blended provider of Teleglobe, Global Crossing and Verio, with over 75 peers. Our server is operated out of the equinix/pihana and One Wilshire facilities in Los Angeles, California.

It’s thursday and ….

Eek my 3 pet fish(es) died. I’m so mad at Confucious. Ugh what a meanie. Sometimes I feel like placing Beastie (the Thai fighting fish) into the aquarium.

I’ve been busy with both school work and fixing the pages of my web hosting site. Watch out for the launch.

Whee…NO school today.

What did I accomplish so far? In my control panel, there are like 37 auto-install scripts. Out of curiousity, I auto-installed the Cube Cart Script., a shopping cart script. Wow, it took only 5 seconds, and I have shopping cart. Of course, I hacked it a bit but that was also easy. I finally decided to make it a permanent fixture in my small web hosting business.

b2 photolog -> Wordpress Photolog, for the daily grind

Thanks to Daynah for helping me upgrade from the b2 photolog to wordpress photolog. Most of us in the Daily Grind used her lovely b2 modification just so the script would work out for our blogging needs. And so, presenting my converted photolog with the recent comments plugin , WP Users Online With Detailed Statistics and WP Subscribe To Comments. Even without the plugins, Wordpress rocks. I’m going to add more plugins later on and continue to fix the layout. But for now, I’m happy I’ve converted all my b2 blogs to wordpress.

*EDIT:
Upgraded Photologs: Connie, Daynah, Jen.
