From Chris Daughtry’s debut rocks out
The greatly anticipated CD from “American Idol” contestant Chris Daughtry was well worth the wait.
Daughtry is packed with hard rock material.
Not only does Chris provide his talented vocal skills, but the band that backs him up take the CD to another level.
You have Joey Barnes as drummer and vocalist, Brian Craddock on guitar, Josh Paul as bass player and Josh Steely on lead guitar.
Those names might not sound familiar now, but I’m predicting they’ll be more common in the months to come.
On the first track and debut single “It’s Not Over,” the chorus is not only catchy, but the whole song is so easy to sing along with and get hooked to.
Chris Daughtry wishes we would forget his shocking elimination from last year’s “American Idol,” a contest he was widely favored to win. It’s kind of a touchy subject.
“You hear one of two things: `You were robbed’ or `you shoulda won,’” he says about attention from sympathetic fans, who continue to offer unsolicited condolences and pep talks about his controversial departure (Taylor Hicks eventually took home the title).

Chris Daughtry sang “Making Memories Of Us” (Keith Urban). Singing this song shows Chri’s tender, vulnerable side. What a beautiful voice when he’s not screaming . Chris has a great voice for country as well, and he proved that he could also do away with his usual rocker act. But Simon said it was boring.

Chris Daughtry’s Creed “What If” performance last March 29. He rocks. Even if Simon Cowel says Chris Daughtry was indulgent, he will definitely make it to the Top 3 American Idol Finals .

These judges used to reap praises on Chris’ rock style but tonight, it just seems blah to them. Perhaps the CREED style isn’t up to par with American Idol standards. And tonight just looks like it’s his weakest performance so far. Maybe Chris should try other singing styles like the R & B or jazz or anything so he won’t sound screamingly boring . “What if” he still emerges the winner?
Chris Daughtry is my new favorite. AMAZING. He is simply amazing! Chris blew me away . His vocal performance was just intense and full of passion. It felt like he was singing the true meaning of the song right to his wife.
This article on him says everything:
Chris has to be by far the sexiest contestant ever on the show. I don’t know what it is about him — he just makes me tingle all over. And luckily for him, he’s got a lot of talent to back it up. His performances so far haven’t exactly shown all of his vocal range, but trust me people, he’s getting there. And just by watching his brilliant rendition of Fuel’s “Hemorrhage” there’s no denying he’s got the chops to stay in this until the end.
