I think all you David A fans will be very very happy about this treasure trove of pictures that I found - David Archuleta in his younger years! I’m guessing he must be around 12 or 13 in these photos and it’s really adorable how he still looks as baby-faced now.
Okay, I know you all want me to just get on to the pictures part so here they are. Lots of David Archielittle behind the cut!
From National Ledger, some fans are not too keen on Kim Caldwell joining David Cook during the tour.
While David Cook adjusts to being the hottest American Idol winner since Carrie Underwood (the sexy blonde country singer captured the idol title in 2005), he’s also getting used to another prize: his budding romance with American idol season two alum Kimberly Caldwell. “There was a lot of chemistry between them,” a friend of the two tells OK!. “But it’s not a good time for David to start a new relationship.”
Love Life & Groupies: David Cook Under Spotlight After American Idol (Image: Wenn)
The source explains the reasoning to OK magazine, “He’s got to finish his album and go on tour, and it’s hard to establish a real relationship when all your attention is on starting your career.” That’s a good point. So can it be true love with Kim? The title of the item from the weekly entertainment magazine reads, “David’s Girl Turns Groupie”.
I love looking at photos of celebrities and pop icons when they’re living a “normal life”, away from the crowds of admiring fans and greedy photographers. It makes them look so human and it makes you feel a little closer to them somehow. I just discovered a Photobucket account that contains non-professional, non-American Idol pictures of David Archuleta with friends, fans, and family - and they’re all fairly recent too! I’m not sure who owns the account or what context the photos were taken, but they’re fun to look at anyways. The Photobucket account was set to private, but I found a way to see the pictures anyway. I placed the best of the lot under the cut for your fangirl viewing pleasure. Enjoy!
I’m not a big NBA fan but I tuned into the finals last Tuesday just to watch a huge David Cook gig - performing the national anthem minutes before Kevin Garnett from the Celtics and Kobe Bryant from the Lakers take centerstage. This was Cook’s first appearance ever at a major sports event, and is part of a tradition of American Idol winners singing the national anthem before the NBA Finals kick off. I thought he did a really great job - he had a confident but not arrogant swagger, and perfect control of his voice. For those who missed David’s performance, don’t worry - here’s a YouTube video you can watch over and over again!
David Archuleta fans, it looks like you can get a good night’s sleep now. Yesterday, 19 Recordings/JIVE Records announced that crowd favorite David Archuleta signed up with them for his debut album, which will be released late 2008. David A’s been a fan of American Idol since it first started, and he’s beyond excited about the record contract and working on his album. On the press release, he reports, “I am honored and humbled to be a part of that group. I’m really excited to start working on everything.”
I have a feeling that David A’s album won’t have a problem selling. This week, David A’s got three songs entering the Hot 100 - his heartstopping version of John Lennon’s Imagine at #36, his critically-acclaimed cover of “Don’t Let the Sun Go Down on Me”, and “In This Moment.”
