So today being New Year’s Eve, we’re preparing for our midnight meal. One of which is Buko (meaning young coconut) salad . Fruits are supposed to bring good luck. I don’t know how…
Of course we have to buy the young coconut from street vendors:

Then have it cut …

Set the ingredients such as the Buko (Young coconut), seedless grapes, diced Fuji apples, a mish mash of Del Monter fruit cocktail, nata de coco, kaong , sweet corn and lychees. Then add condensed milk and Nestle Cream.

We were at Scout Borromeo, Quezon City in the afternoon . Using my cellphone camera, I thought I’d take pics of these fruit stands since they looked so colorful.

But wait…are they really fruits?

what are those colorful stuff behind the fruits?

Yikes. FIREWORDS in all shapes and sizes

and horns and hats.

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL!!!

These cookies are so addicting . I just pick one from the garland on the way to the kitchen.

They are wrapped in plastic so that dust and roaches won’t attack them.

After a light dinner at “Herricks ” (The art of Beverages) at the Magallanes Commerical Center in Makati, my Aunt Lorna asked for “roast coffee” and was told that it was a specialty in Taiwan.
I was thinking “what’s so special with “roast coffee”?
Then her order arrived and was surprised to see this….

Edit
Lol, I misheard her order…it was literally ROSE COFFEE not roast coffee…
Cute little rose bud with a rosey taste….something yummy and different

Speaking of “Herricks Restaurant”, they have all sorts of unique beverages not found in other coffee shops. My dad had the green tea with lychees and almonds and he loved it so much because it wasn’t too sweet. My mom and I shared the huge serving of ice cream crepes. *drools * Great place to hangout and have great food.

My cousin gave me some Russian Chocolate. It’s white chocolate but the taste is not really special. I like the crunchiness though.
*Clickety from my cellphone*

My aunt just arrived from Thailand and gave us crispy dried Jackfruit. They look like chips but yummier.
