prosopagnosia or face blindness

This Have we Met? article explains why we sometimes can’t remember names:

We all know that sinking feeling that comes when we just can’t remember someone who clearly recognizes us. So imagine how uncomfortable life might be for a person incapable of recognizing anyone–even a close friend or relative–by face alone. Preliminary results from a recent survey suggest that up to 2% of the general population may be afflicted by this condition, known as prosopagnosia or face blindness.

It turns out that a certain fraction of the healthy population has prosopagnosia.

Cosmic Cycling

Cosmic Cycling at Fitness First is insane! It was so tiring but really FUN especially with the pop music to groove into. The Cosmic Cycling studio has around 40 bikes or so and the room gives an outer space aura especially at night because of its Ultraviolet lights that glow in the dark.

Body balance

Last Friday, I was disappointed that yoga classes were cancelled at Fitness First. Instead , I did my first Body Balance class . Capitalising on the worldwide trend towards Yoga and Pilates, Body Balance combines the benefits of these exercise forms. I didn’t like the music though. I expected it to be classical or something. Bu yeah, Body Balance is just great as yoga…

Fitness First

fitness firstI feel so healthy. I just enrolled at Fitness First (the Fort) for one year commitment. I’m sooo impressed with the latest, top-of-the-line Techno Gym equipment and HAMMER Strength Free Weight Station and movies while doing the treadmill and lots more. I got frustrated with this certain makati yoga sala because their schedule keeps changing. So mom and I dropped by at Fitness First to inquire about the yoga lessons but then we were told membership is required. I might also try their body balance, pilates and other fitness classes. Not bad for 2,190 pesos ($40.00) a month. I’m starting yoga sessions tonight. Exciting!

acne alert

My skin is breaking out like crazy, I really need some sort of medicine for it. Of all the things I forgot to bring… my prescription for Minocycline. I feel so ugly now. And I’ve been pigging out on clam chowder. My dermatalogist says that shellfish and the like may cause folliculitis and worsen my acne . Uh, how could I resist yummy soup?

day 3- I love yoga

Today I tried the Bikram’s Beginning Yoga Class at El Cerrito. I kept whispering “I’m dying” to my aunt but I lasted 90 minutes. Since the room was heated, practically every sweat gland in my body was used. I think my body created new sweat glands to let all the sweat out. My legs and butt really hurt, it’s a good workout and afterwards I felt so healthy that I ate salad for lunch. I feel great!

As Bikram says, “Yoga is the only exercise in the world you can do at any age. There is always some posture that will improve your health, mind, and soul.”

I’m going to see if I can change my kickboxing to “kung fu” beginner adults class.

Day 2 - Out of shape

My aunt enrolled me in kickboxing today. Man, I’m out of shape. Kickboxing is very hard. Very demanding workout. I’m just doing warmups and I feel so nauseous. In fact I was too busy getting dizzy that I forgot to take photos. haha. Tomorrow at 9:00 AM. , I will have yoga lessons Let’s see what happens.

I will be updating the photo gallery as much as I can. Click here.

Also, could you please help me get a free ipod? I don’t really need one but hey, if I can get it for free, why not? Use this referral link: http://www.freeiPods.com/?r=17292362
