Tonight’s American Idol eliminations was quite a shock to me. After her beyond mediocre performance yesterday, I was so sure that Brooke White would get the boot. I’m all the more convinced now that this voting system is rigged because after thirty eight million votes, Carly Smithson left the show. And Brooke White wasn’t even in the bottom two! What’s up with that? Although Carly’s performance wasn’t my favorite from Andrew Lloyd Webber night, I did enjoy watching her because I could tell that she was having so much fun doing what she was doing. Simon Cowell apologized for complementing Carly last night, calling it a “kiss of death”. But he also added that she can leave the competition with her head held high. Damn right she can!
If Brooke White doesn’t get kicked off American Idol next week, I’m throwing a hissyfit.
