A few weeks ago on “American Idol,” David Cook announced that he was single. Well, it looks like his status is changing.
Monday, on ABC’s “Live with Regis & Kelly,” Cook admitted he took “Idol” Season Two finalist Kimberly Caldwell out on a date to Ruth’s Chris steakhouse. Apparently, the date went well. Later, the 2008 winner told ABC News Radio, “She’s great, and I look forward to seeing her again.”
David Cook just got signed by RCA records and is preparing to work on his first album, which will be released in fall 2008. Sources say he’ll be recording the album during the summer while he’s traveling with the American Idol tour (which will start on July 1 in Glendale, Arizona and ends on September 13 in Tulsa, Oklahoma). His first single, “The Time of My Life” sold 236,024 tracks on iTunes in just four days, and he also has 17 tracks on the Top 100 Digital Songs Chart - the most number of tracks any artist has ever had.
David Cook seems really excited and happy to be signed by RCA Records and says that the deal is “truly a dream come true.” He’s looking forward to the recording process and can’t wait to show his fanbase and the rest of America what he’s capable of doing. Well, we’re all looking forward to his album’s release!
“American Idol” runner-up David Archuleta lands three songs on both charts, led by his cover of John Lennon’s “Imagine” (No. 36 Hot 100, No. 16 on Hot Digital Songs, 71,000).
Being number 36 is VERY solid for a short length live track. Most can’t even make it past 50. This will be quite good for David Archuleta.
