Adam Lambert has a Boyfriend

We really don’t need a Rolling Stone cover to spell out the obvious for us: Adam Lambert IS gay, and he doesn’t have to say it. I don’t see why the photographic evidence of Adam Lambert kissing boys isn’t enough for a lot of people, but if these new photos don’t spell it out for you, I don’t know what will.

Last night, Adam made his way out of the LA club Guys and Dolls, his fingers intertwined with those of rumored boyfriend’s Drake LaBry. I’ve had a feeling photos like this would turn up on the Internet sooner or later. Adam’s always lived his life the way he does, even when he was in American Idol, and felt no need to hide who he is. It’ll be interesting to hear Adam’s story if he does choose to tell it, but I think we can all agree with Kara DioGuardi when she once said, “Adam was never really in the closet.”

Adam Lambert to Officially Come Out Soon

When photos of Adam Lambert kissing boys got leaked on the Internet, many fans started wondering if he was gay, experimental, or if those photos were just a case of mistaken identity. Then we saw his performances and how Adam never attempted to hide who he was throughout his entire American Idol journey. Still, people kept speculating and asking questions about the obvious - is Adam Lambert gay?

Well, Adam may finally answer all questions about his sexual orientation very soon. In an interview on Z100 radio today, Adam said, “If you stay tuned, we’ll have all the answers you’re looking for. Very very very soon, everybody is going to find out what they need to find out.” This seems to be related to a mysterious Twitter Ryan Seacrest made today:

What up adam and kris! crushing it on the today show! Btw adam will address the sexuality speculation soon. They are both superstars!

I honestly think this whole coming out on the press is completely unnecessary, but maybe the speculation will finally stop once he points out the obvious. And if/when he does fess up, this gay thing will be the only issue people will be talking about.

    Adam Lambert No Boundaries MP3-Video

Kris Allen is the New American Idol

KRIS ALLEN IS THE NEW AMERICAN IDOL! I am in shock. I was so sure Adam Lambert would win – Google trends showed that everyone on the internet is talking about him, but I guess what really matters is the million viewers who don’t surf the net and who actually pick up the phones to vote.

It’s been a very close race, with both contestants deserving of the title, talent-wise – Adam with his creative, breathtaking performances, and Kris with his beautiful interpretations, clever arrangement, and vocals. Even Ryan Seacrest said that there was only a slim margin that separated both of them. Both were consistently at the top of their game throughout the season, but I really wanted Adam to win. Why? Because even though Kris is undeniably talented, he’s too safe, too family-friendly, too conventional for my liking. Adam was different. He was the breath of fresh air the show needed – he shocked audiences without being scandalous, he stood out flamboyantly without trying to hard. Had he won, I think he could have been a real star, and now it’s hard to say if this could be the start of a mainstream career or the last of his fifteen minutes of fame.

I did consider that maybe conservative Americans weren’t ready for a gay Idol, and that Danny Gokey’s Christian supporters would vote for Kris. So I wasn’t very shocked, but that didn’t make it any less disappointing for me when I heard the results.

In any case, congratulations Kris Allen! His version of No Boundaries will be released on iTunes very soon.

American Idol Finale Spoilers and Rumors

Yesterday I blogged about the supposed performance of KISS and David Bowie with Adam Lambert at the American Idol season 8 finale, as well as some artists who will most definitely be there. No news on whether the KISS thing is true, but there are more American Idol finale spoilers and rumors circulating around the net.

According to the rumor mill, the season 8 coronation song will be called “This is How I Want to Be” and was written by Joseph Belmaati, Hed Mich Hansen, Jorgen Kjell Elofsson, and Kara DioGuardi. It was a single sung by Kristine Blond, and Adam Lambert and Kris Allen can supposedly rearrange the song, but are not allowed to play instruments on stage. I’m not really sure if there’s any truth to this because the single was released way back in 2001 – it’s kind of old and outdated, don’t you think?

Extra also reports that Britney Spears will be performing for the Idol finale, which seemed plausible until Britney Spear’s reps exclusively told Perez Hilton that no, this rumor is false. Who else here is a little disappointed that there won’t be a Britney Spears spectacle during the finale?

We already know that Jason Mraz, Keith Urban, Cyndi Lauper, and David Cook will be there. According to a MySpace message sent by Our Lady Peace, David Cook will be doing a cover of Permanent for the Idol Finale. The performance can be downloaded via iTunes with all proceeds going to David’s charity program for brain tumor research, which he recently set up for his brother Adam, who died of cancer just recently.

And for those of you who don’t know how the finale works out, this is how it’s gonna happen. There are two contestants and three rounds. In the first round, the contestants get to sing their favorite song from the season. I hope Adam Lambert does Mad World again; Kris Allen should definitely do Ain’t no Sunshine. For round two, Simon Fuller gets to pick what they sing. And in the final round is the Winner’s Single, which will be penned by Kara DioGuardi. Wonder if the winner’s single will be any good, or if it will be the same old radio-friendly generic pop song.
