After the excitement of the win, what is in store for David Cook? What was he feeling exactly?
Here are Interviews with David Cook and David Archuleta Post-finale
David Cook’s first day as ‘Idol’ winner
David Cook on the Tonight Show
The two Davids battled it out on the stage tonight and in less than twenty four hours, we will find out who the next American Idol is. It was a very interesting show, up until the end of the show when David Archuleta sang “Imagine” for the FOURTH time this season. Um, dude, we already know that you can sing “Imagine” pretty well. But I’m getting way ahead of myself.
Round 1
Clive Davis Pick
Clive Davis, whose record label will be producing the American Idol’s album, chose the songs for the first round of tonight’s competition. David Cook got U2’s “I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For” and it was a very impressive performance; a little bit predictable but engaging. David Archuleta had Elton John’s “Don’t Let the Sun Go Down On Me”, which Randy declared was one of the best performances of the season. Simon added that the win for this round went to Archuleta. I thought Archuleta’s performance was objectively good, but listen closely to it - it sounds rather uninspired.
1. David Cook 9/10
2. David Archuleta 8/10
Round 2
Songwriters Contest
In the second round, the Davids sang songs from the top ten of the American Idol Songwriting Competition. This round is bound to be difficult, as neither of them has ever heard these songs before. David Cook rocked out on Emily Shackelton’s “Dream Big” with his guitar, which I have to admit sounded a little too pop-like for David Cook. Still, he did his best. Just like Randy, I didn’t like the song much but the performance was awesome. David Archuleta sang Ryan Gilmore’s “In This Moment”, which I didn’t like much - but then again, I’m not the biggest fan of ballads. Simon decided that Archuleta pwned round 2, but I still think that Cook did far better than Archuleta for this one.
1. David Cook 9/10
2. David Archuleta 8/10
Round 3
Personal Choice
David Cook’s choice and last song for the evening is Collective Soul’s “The World I Know” - a song he has never sung before. It was terribly risky for him to do that but that’s what I like about David Cook - he’s not afraid to try something new to show off his edge and originality. His last song just blew me away, it was completely phenomenal. What the hell was Simon talking about when he said Cook made the wrong song choice? I thought it was perfect.
Finally, David Archuleta picked John Lennon’s “Imagine” for his last song. Did I mention that this is the fourth time he sang it this season? It just goes to show how immature he can be as an artist. I’m not saying that I hate the song or that Archuleta completely blew it - he sang it as well as he did the first, second, and third time. But whatever happened to doing something new?
1. David Cook 9/10
2. David Archuleta 8/10
My vote goes to David Cook, but I have a sinking feeling that David Archuleta will be winning the competition. He’s got a large teenybopper fanbase, plus his age makes him an interesting novelty to those who aren’t teenagers. I have absolutely no idea who America will vote for tonight, but I guess we’ll find out tomorrow. Stay tuned!

Spoilers from Nigel Lythgoe
“Nigel Lythgoe releases a few more spoiler details in an interview with Ryan Seacrest this morning on KISS:
David Archuleta will sing “Imagine” (there is also a rumor that Clive’s choice for Archie is “Don’t Let the Sun Go Down on Me”. He chose not to spoil any of David Cook’s songs. Since Cookie’s camp is sealed up tight as a drum, we probably won’t know the songs until they are leaked right before the broadcast.
Which David will make it?
Deep in my heart, it is David Cook who is the more talented between the two. In reality, David Archuleta has a massive fan base that will give him the winning votes.
And it will be David Cook who will earn more from record deals.

Will David Archuleta win American Idol Season 7? Do you think he deserves to win it?
Sure, he has the voice but it’s been too predictable the last few performances. He also has a lot of young fans.
