As with every year, the American Idol kids rang the Nasdaq closing bell, but Matt Giraud and Anoop Desai dropped by the Daily Show with Jon Stewart afterwards. From their Twitter accounts:
@MGiraudOfficial twittered: What an amazing day so far. Went to the Daily show. Noop and I Hung out with Jon Stewart after which was amazing!! http://twitpic.com/dg4m8
@AnoopDoggDesai twittered: Great day, went to the Daily Show, hung with Jon Stewart, now off to dinner.
Meanwhile, Kris Allen guested on MTV’s It’s on with Alexa Chung, where he talked about his travels as a missionary, his childhood tumor, and his biggest fears. At some point during the interview, he sings jingles while sitting on Alexa’s lap – pretty fun stuff. Check out the video under the jump!
The American Idol Season 8 Tour is going to kick off real soon and so far, we’ve already got a bunch of song spoilers. The first one is really obvious: since every Idol winner performs the winning Idol song, it’s probably safe to assume that Kris Allen will be singing “No Boundaries”. Here are the rest of our guesses:
According to Danny Gokey’s Twitter account, he’ll be singing “My Wish” by Rascal Flatt
In his 20/20 interview, Adam Lambert says that he’ll be singing 5 songs during the tour. Two of these will be David Bowie’s Fame and Muse’s Starlight.
The Idol drummer Aaron dropped hints that Allison Iraheta will be singing Barracuda.
Matt Giraud might be singing Georgia by Ray Charles. This one is based entirely upon conjecture after he mentioned “reaching back to Hollywood” for one of his songs.
It’s also been confirmed that Adam and Allison will be performing their duet “Slow Ride” by Foghat.
Kris Allen’s been a very busy bee lately! Last Saturday, former Arkansas governor Mike Huckabee welcomed him to his FOX new show, where he performed a lovely rendition of the Beatles’ Yesterday with Huckabee on the bass guitar. Apparently, Kris Allen taught himself to play guitar at age 13 and hasn’t put it down ever since.
The day before, Kris Allen and his wife Katy spent the whole day at Disney World in Orlando, Florida, where he arrived through a motorcade down Hollywood Boulevard, the park’s main street. After performing the classic Heartless, he answered some interview questions at the American Idol Experience.
Us Magazine interviewed Kris Allen and Adam Lambert in New York City on their expectations for the summer tour. They’re both really excited about each other’s outfits and apparently, Adam is a top. Bunk, that is. Yes, he actually went there!
Now that this year’s American Idol has been decided, the top 3 contestants of season 8 will start doing the talk show circuit this week. Idol winner Kris Allen, runner-up Adam Lambert, and 3rd placer Danny Gokey will be appearing on the TV nearest you all week. Check out the schedule below!

I hope he keeps this up throughout the tour and his entire career.
TweetKris Allen Still Thinks Adam Lambert Deserved To Win ‘American Idol”He’s one of the most gifted performers I’ve ever met,’ the new champ says of his rival.
Kris Allen might have been a stranger to “American Idol” fans before the top 36 performance shows, but three months later, he was crowned the show’s new champion.
How did he do it? We caught up with the 23-year-old newlywed from Conway, Arkansas, to talk about his under-the-radar journey, whether he’ll be going country and what Kanye West said about his version of “Heartless.”
Q: After you were announced as the winner, you said Adam Lambert deserved to win. Why did you say that?
A: I still feel that way. I feel like Adam deserved it just as much as I did. He was the most consistent person all year, he’s one of the most gifted performers I’ve ever met, he’s really just a great guy. We became great friends, and we told each other that day, “You deserve it,” and he shot it back at me. I think it could have gone either way, and America could not have gotten it wrong.
Q: During Tuesday night’s performance finale, the judges seemed to not really comment on your performances of the coronation song, “No Boundaries.” Why do you think that was?
A: After that last song, I don’t think me or Adam were happy with our performances at all. I think that they were not trying to judge us on that song, more than anything, and just judge us on the year, which was kind of nice. It felt great to be judged on what we’ve done throughout the year and not exactly what we’d done on that song.
